-- Police in Quang Nam Province, central Vietnam announced on Friday that they have pressed charges against an additional 47 suspects for allegedly involving in the country’s largest loan shark ring worth more than VND20 trillion (US$824.4 million). They had earlier cracked down on the racket in July last year and prosecuted 54 foreign and Vietnamese suspects. -- Two local students drowned in a reservoir in Duc Hoa District, Long An Province, southern Vietnam on Friday after they joined two others for bathing in the lake the same day, according to local police. -- The State Securities Commision of Vietnam has fined two local property firms, namely Sacom Land Corporation and Vina2 Investment and Construction JSC, VND92.5 million ($3,804) each for failing to disclose corporate bond information as required.
