The two policemen were Nguyen Quoc Dat and Le Duc Anh from Phuoc Dong Commune, Can Duoc District, Long An Province. They saved the child while they were visiting a tourist area in Nha Trang as part of a political course. On behalf of the family of the child, the consulate general expressed its respect and most sincere gratitude to the Long An Police and the two police officers. They found a resort employee attempting to rescue a child from drowning in the swimming pool on San Ho 2 Island in Nha Trang City. The child, a 10-year-old Chinese tourist, had been dining with his family at a nearby restaurant and had entered the pool unaccompanied, resulting in the near-tragic incident.
