Some 200 police officers in Hanoi besieged and arrested a man who kidnapped a seven-year-old boy on Tuesday morning after 10 hours of tracking him down, returning the boy home unharmed. The kidnapper was identified as Nguyen Duc Trung, a 31-year-old resident of Vinh Phuc Province, northern Vietnam. The Hanoi Department of Public Security said on Tuesday that D.T.H., who lives in the Viet Hung urban area in Long Bien District, contacted police in Viet Hung Ward at 7:40 pm on Monday to report her kidnapped child. At the Dong Van industrial park in Ha Nam Province, some 60 kilometers from Hanoi, Trung asked the boy’s mother to walk to the site to hand over the money. At 7:00 pm on Monday, Trung was driving around the Viet Hung urban area, when he found H.’s son riding a bike.
