March 02, 2024

The Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control (HCDC) issued a hot weather warning on Friday afternoon for the city and other localities in southern Vietnam amid a spell of excessively hot weather, urging the public to take precautionary measures against the scorching heat to reduce a risk of heat-related health problems. Hospitals in the city have received a rising number of visitors who came to seek medical attention as the heat has negatively affected their health. Among those visiting the Ho Chi Minh City Hospital of Dermato Venereology recently, many reported that they have experienced irritations and heat rashes on the face for a couple of weeks. HCDC said the hot weather is not only unbearable but can also leave a significant impact on public health, causing many problems like sunstroke, heatstroke, or stroke.
