Ho Chi Minh City takes action against bad driving behaviors among delivery workers

April 18, 2024

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport has ordered enforcement units to crack down on reckless delivery drivers who occupy sidewalks and commit traffic violations while transporting goods. It is common to see delivery workers riding motorcycles in the city, but they often overload their vehicles, speed, and encroach on sidewalks. In addition, many delivery workers are often spotted using their phones while driving, posing a high risk of traffic crashes. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport proposed that the municipal Department of Industry and Trade put forward some measures to handle these driving behaviors and sanction related organizations and individuals. The transport department also urged the Department of Public Security to conduct regular patrols and penalize delivery firms and their workers for their traffic violations.
