A man stretched a rope across the Tuyen Quang – Phu Tho Expressway in northern Vietnam as the road has no wastewater drainage ditches, which he said has caused wastewater to flow into his house, situated five meters away, during rainy days. Many drivers on the expressway urged him to eliminate the rope to allow passage, yet the man persisted in his refusal, even resorting to threats against those attempting to remove it. / Tuoi TreA representative of the Traffic Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security said the case happened on a Tuyen Quang – Phu Tho Expressway section in Doan Hung District, Phu Tho Province. The 40-kilometer Tuyen Quang – Phu Tho Expressway was opened to traffic in late December last year. The four-lane road carries a price tag of over VND3.7 trillion (US$149 million) and helps shorten the travel time between Hanoi and Tuyen Quang Province to two hours.
