Minister affirms Việt Nam's commitment to public health care in response to World Health Day

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam is committed to prioritising public healthcare, said Minister of Health Đào Hồng Lan at a meeting held by the Ministry of Health in Hà Nội on Saturday to mark the 2023 World Health Day's (April 7) theme of “Health for all”. Held in collaboration with the Hồ Chí Minh Communist Youth Union, the Việt Nam Youth Federation, the Việt Nam Young Physicians' Association, and the representative office of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Việt Nam, the event aimed to promote practices that improve health for disease prevention and control, changing lives for a healthier Việt Nam. Strong coordination between all government levels and people in each country is vital to address these issues successfully, Lan stated. Angela Pratt, the WHO Representative in Việt Nam, emphasised the importance of multilateral cooperation and the role of young people in promoting public health to address these challenges towards achieving better health for everyone. As part of the event, delegates participated in a mass dance performance and a health walk.
