Partnership to support scientific research, innovation among youth in HCM City

HCM CITY — By 2025, the Hồ Chí Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) of HCM City and the city’s Department of Science and Technology will continue to coordinate with each other to support and promote scientific research and innovation activities among young people, especially university students. Phan Thị Thanh Phương, secretary of the HCYU of HCM City, said that in recent years, the four-year programme supporting creative and scientific research activities in the city has fostered and nurtured many young talents and young scientists. These activities continue to expand and develop strongly, and have helped to inspire creativity in the youth and children in the city, she said. In the 2019-22 period, a number of activities were organised to promote scientific research and innovation movements that attracted hundreds of thousands of students and young scientists to participate. They are the Young Science and Technology Incubator programme, Young Science workshops, annual Eureka Scientific Research Students Awards, International Student Science forum, HCM City Youth-Children Innovation Contest, technology trips, and the festival of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) DAY.
