A 58-year-old South Korean director of a company in Thua Thien-Hue Province, central Vietnam has been detained for allegedly offering nearly 18,000 smuggled clothing sets in the local market, the provincial police agency confirmed on Friday. The arrested director of Takson Hue Company Limited was identified as Kang Myung Gyu, residing in the province’s Huong Thuy Town. According to findings from the police, Takson Hue opened a customs declaration to import fabrics and clothing materials into Vietnam for contract manufacturing. However, Kang colluded with Nguyet and Hiep to put the said amount of clothing sets up for sale in the Vietnamese market without making any customs declaration. Police officers already confiscated these clothing sets and are working out total damages in this smuggling case.
