Sleeper bus driver runs in wrong direction to shun traffic jam in Vietnam

A sleeper bus driver has been fined after he was caught driving in the wrong direction on a National Highway 1 section in Khanh Hoa Province, south-central Vietnam on Thursday. The driver acknowledged that he encountered a traffic jam while traveling on the national highway in Ninh Hoa District at 6:00 pm on the same day. Traffic police in the south-central province fined the driver VND5 million (US$204) and suspended his driver's license for three months due to wrong-way driving, the traffic police department under the Ministry of Public Security said on Saturday night. The driver, identified as N.T.H., a 34-year-old resident of Phu Yen Province, which is a neighbor of Khanh Hoa Province, was the subject of the penalties.
