Traffic accidents, death toll rise during New Year holiday in Vietnam

A total of 83 traffic accidents happened across Vietnam during the three-day holiday marking the 2023 New Year, killing 50 people. The Southeast Asian country recorded 83 traffic accidents during the holiday weekend from Saturday to Monday, according to the National Traffic Safety Committee. The number of accidents increased by 29.7 percent and the death toll jumped by 31.6 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
