Traffic accidents kill 11 in Vietnam on first day of Lunar New Year

Eleven people were killed and 16 others were injured in 17 traffic accidents across Vietnam on Sunday, the first day of the 2023 Lunar New Year, which was also the third day of the seven-day Tet break starting last Friday, traffic police reported. Compared to the same day of last year’s Tet, the number of traffic accidents and the deaths reduced by one each while the injuries increased by five. Compared to last year, the road traffic injuries rose by 14 while the figures of accidents and fatalities declined by four and three, respectively.
