Vietnam approves IELTS One Skill Retake

The Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training has granted approval for the organization of the IELTS One Skill Retake (OSR), an option enabling IELTS candidates to improve specific skill scores without retaking the entire test. The ministry urged the British Council and IDP Education, the two IELTS exam organizers in Vietnam, to publicly disclose details about the OSR option. OSR was introduced globally at the end of 2022, allowing IELTS examinees to enhance scores in listening, reading, speaking, or writing in 30 countries and territories. The average IELTS score for Vietnamese stands at 6.2 out of 9.0, placing them 23rd globally, according to last year’s report.
