Vietnam collects information of foreigners in census for 1st time

Vietnam's mid-term population census, which began on Monday, is breaking new ground by collecting information about foreign residents living in Vietnamese households for the first time, according to the country's central statistics agency. The census is a massive undertaking, spanning all 63 provinces and cities across Vietnam, said Nguyen Thi Huong, GSO general director. This includes everyone, from military personnel to foreign residents living in Vietnam. The results of the mid-term census will be announced between November and December this year.
