January 11, 2024

Le Thi Mong Tuyen has secured Vietnam’s fourth spot at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris thanks to a standout performance at the Asian Rifle/Pistol Championship 2024 in Indonesia. With five athletes among the eight finalists already having qualified for the Paris Olympics, Tuyen needed to outgun Amini Pozveh of Iran and Huiyi Tan of Singapore for one of the two available Olympic berths. Under coach Nguyen Duy Hoang’s guidance, Tuyen finished in fourth place overall with a score of 125.9, officially securing herself a place at the 2024 Paris Olympics, scheduled for July 26 to August 11. It also makes Tuyen the second Vietnamese shooter and the country's fourth athlete to have booked a spot in the 2024 Olympics. Cyclist Nguyen Thi That and swimmer Nguyen Huy Hoang have also qualified for the Games.
