Vietnam to collect iris, ADN patterns for identification in July

Vietnam's Ministry of Public Security has been assigned to start collecting biometric information including iris scans, voice samples, and DNA from July 1 for individual identification purposes. The prime minister has approved a decision outlining the implementation plan for the amended Law on Citizen Identification. As per the decision, the public security ministry was also tasked with adopting effective methods to step up the collection. The utilization of iris, DNA, and voice data is required to adhere to the provisions of the law. This initiative is aimed at ensuring information security and safeguarding the privacy of personal information.
