Vietnamese cleaner detained for stealing assets of Hong Kong company director

A cleaner of a company in Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City was arrested on Saturday for allegedly stealing assets worth VND3.5 billion (US$149,272) from the company’s director, who is from Hong Kong. Believing that the safe contained valuable assets, Quyen hatched a plot to steal the safe after her boss said he would go on a business trip. She later bought a hack-sawing machine and brought it to the company. The assets stolen by Vo Thi Ngoc Quyen, a 47-year-old resident in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, and a cleaner of a company headquartered in the Him Lam Residential Area in Binh Chanh.
