Vietnamese court official resigns after traveling to US

The People’s Court in Quang Binh Province, north-central Vietnam has approved a female official's resignation after she traveled to the U.S. but did not return as committed. Nguyen Huu Tuyen, chief justice of the provincial People’s Court, confirmed on Tuesday that the official, named P.T.M.Ng., submitted an application for 12 days of annual leave in November last year. She wrote in the application that she would travel to the U.S. for sightseeing and visiting her relatives. The court approved her application. did not resume work at the court following her leave, nor did she seek permission to extend her absence.
