Vietnamese violonist receives Honorary Professor title in Kazakhstan

HÀ NỘI – Vietnamese violinist and lecturer Bùi Công Duy was named Honorary Professor of the Kazakh National University of Arts (KazUniArt). “The Việt Nam National Academy of Music (VNAM) is honoured to have a representative, Meritorious Artist Duy, who was awarded the Honorary Professor title of the KazUniArt,” said Lê Anh Tuấn, director of VNAM. He attended an intermediate course on violin at the Glinka School of Music with professor A.V. He has won international awards, including the 1st prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in 1997, the first prize at the Z.Bron International Music Competition in 1995, and the first prize at the Demidove International Music Contest in Ekaterinburg in 1993. KazUniArt has invited Duy to judge at international violin competitions, teach masterclasses and perform with Kazakhstan Symphony Orchestra.
