Vietnam’s Dong Nai fines company over $5,000 for building 8,000sqm project without license

The administration in Long Thanh District, Dong Nai Province, a neighbor of Ho Chi Minh City, has fined a company VND130 million (US$5,275.2) for constructing a building project on over 8,000 square meters without any license. The district imposed the fine on Kingfa Science & Technology Vietnam Co. Ltd. for developing the project in the Long Thanh Hi-Tech Industrial Park. The company was also forced to suspend the project pending the approval of a formal construction license. On January 8, authorities in Long Thanh District inspected the construction site of the project, where Kingfa was developing a factory and a waste-to-energy facility. The investor has suspended the construction of the project and is completing procedures to obtain a construction license.
