The administration in Dong Nai Province, southern Vietnam has ordered the organization of an international contest for the planning of the Long Thanh airport urban area to exploit the potential of the under-construction mammoth airport and adjacent areas. The Dong Nai authorities will give priority to those experienced in strategy consulting and urban planning as well as having conducted similar projects. Once the contest’s results are produced in August this year, the province will choose breakthrough ideas for the Long Thanh airport urban area planning until 2045. The Long Thanh airport urban area was planned to cover 57,000 hectares, including adjacent areas of Long Thanh International Airport in Nhon Trach, Cam My, Thong Nhat, and Trang Bom Districts. Therefore, the planning of the Long Thanh airport urban area needs to meet the requirements of a modern, green, sustainable urban area, unlock the potential of Long Thanh International Airport, and meet the demand of local residents and enterprises.
