Vietnam’s public security ministry cooperation with Harvard University important: Minister To Lam

The Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security attaches great importance to cooperation and exchange activities with research institutes and centers of Harvard University, Minister To Lam said during a reception for Professor Thomas J. Vallely, senior advisor for mainland Southeast Asia at Harvard Kennedy School, in Hanoi on Monday. They have also facilitated the signing of cybersecurity documents between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the U.S. National Security Council, as well as the U.S.-ASEAN Business Council. Minister Lam affirmed that the cooperation with Harvard University would help deal with challenges in high-skilled manpower training and cybersecurity and new technology-related legal framework development. The collaboration between the Ministry of Public Security and Harvard University will be a demonstration of the cooperation between Vietnam and the U.S. after the two countries upgraded their relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership last year, Lam added. Professor Vallely spoke highly of the cooperation between U.S. law enforcement agencies and the Ministry of Public Security, stressing that Vietnam holds many opportunities to deploy and develop AI infrastructure.
