VNRC donates $200,000 to support victims of earthquake in Turkey, Syria

HÀ NỘI — The Việt Nam Red Cross Society (VNRC) donated US$200,000 to the Turkish Red Crescent Association and the Syrian Red Crescent Association to support the two countries’ people overcoming the consequences of earthquakes last month. Then VNRC also donated $100,000 to the Syrian Red Crescent Society through the International Association of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. On February 17, the VNRC called on the community to support the people impacted by the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria. A 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck on February 6 in southeast Turkey and northeast Syria, killing more than 50,000 people. The VNRC will continue to receive support to help the people of Turkey and Syria overcome the consequences of the earthquake until May 30, 2023.
