Whale carcass washes up on northern Vietnam beach

Fishermen discovered a decomposing whale carcass about 9.8 meters long, estimated to weigh five metric tons, washed up on a local beach in Nam Dinh Province, northern Vietnam on Sunday. The fishermen then reported the finding to local authorities of Nam Dinh’s Hai Hau District, who buried the corpse of the whale shortly after on the same day. Residents of Hai Hau, where other whale carcasses had been found stranded along the coast before, said that the one discovered on Sunday was among the biggest.
